Manchester United have blown hot and cold in the current campaign, but there have been more sorry results recently. The situation shows the depth of the rot at the club and how much work is needed.

When Jose Mourinho was manager, he tried to wield the big and rein in players seen as lazy, but he came under the stick and showed the door.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived under a cloud of hope, but the Norwegian steered the club into a rotten mess. The Norwegian pandered to the whims of the players. He hoped it would bring out the best in them. It turned out to be a terrible mistake, with the players lapsing into a lethargy that would take years to rebuild.

The interim manager Ralf Rangnick has come in to correct those mistakes, but the tough disciplinary stance and demands have brought out the laziness and lack of effort. The results have been less than desired, and Cristiano Ronaldo hasd to mull his immediate future with the club.

PSG eye Ronaldo amid crisis talks

Paris Saint-Germain have struggled for over six months to convince Kylian Mbappe to renew his contract with the club. The 23-year-old has remained adamant about leaving the Paris club. The Mbappe position has seen the club looking for a replacement for the youngster. PSG wanted to bring Ronaldo to Paris last summer before the Portuguese joined Manchester United. The upheaval at Old Trafford may have made the Portuguese star available again.

The situation at Manchester United has forced Cristiano Ronaldo to rethink his immediate future, and it has got PSG scrambling for their cheque books. Reports suggest that the Portuguese star held crisis talks with the Old Trafford side.

The 36-year-old Ronaldo was a subject of interest for PSG last summer. The alliance between Real Madrid and Mbappe is well known, and the situation remains unchanged. PSG hopes Mbappe will change his mind and stay in the French capital. There currently isn’t much to hang on to, and the next transfer window could see a deal that unites Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo.

PSG targets and a United manager

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes travelled to the UK over the weekend to hold crisis talks with Manchester United over his client’s situation at the club. French outlet Le10Sport reports a renewed interest by PSG in the Portuguese.

According to the report, Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski are PSG’s primary targets this summer, but they will be keen to add the quality of Ronaldo if available. Thea of a Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo attacking trident is one the Qatar owned club want to build.

PSG will have a straight run at Ronaldo if on the market as his former club Real Madrid have shown no interest in reuniting with the player. It all boils down to the decisions made at Manchester United. Reports suggest that Ronaldo is not keen on Ralf Rangnick, and the next Manchester United manager will play a vital part in deciding whether Ronaldo plays at United or not.

Ronaldo wants to win silverware, but it looks almost unachievable at United.
