The failed Real Madrid move for Kylian Mbappe has put Paris Saint Germain in the news. Every link to the club is now newsworthy all of a sudden.
The summer pursuit of Kylian Mbappe by Real Madrid is no secret. PSG looked to cover his departure with the signing of Everton Brazilian striker Richarlison. The transfer failed, and Richarlison remained at Everton.
PSG are still whining about Real Madrid's attempt to prise away the 22-year-old Mbappe from their grasp. With Mbappe yet to renew at Par Des Princes, his continuous stay at the club will always be analysed.
Richarlison winking at PSG
Perhaps Richarlison held out hopes of a move to PSG. The news of PSG's interest in the Brazilian came as a shock and one that might have pleased the player. Which player would spurn the chance to play alongside some of the greatest players on the planet?
In the final days of the transfer window, Real Madrid lodged a mouth-watering offer of £153.6 million for Kylian Mbappe, but it was not tempting enough for a club with limitless resources. While the bid was on the table, PSG mulled over the thought of bringing in Richarlison from Goodison Park.
With the move not happening, Richarlison is still hopeful of a transfer to Paris and is winking at the Parisian club.
In a recent tweet, the Brazilian sang the praises of the PSG trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, fueling the rumours of a move.
The flirting tweet by Richarlison
Can a move still be on the cards for the Brazilian to PSG? As far as the possibility of a Mbappe transfer exists, then Richarlison will hang on for the opportunity to line up with Neymar and Messi.
The Brazilian kept himself on the shelf with what looked like a come and get me tweet. Before the Champions League group stage tie between PSG and Club Brugge, Richarlison posted on Twitter that read: "Neymar, Messi, Mbappé!!! Today has UCL" - he finished the tweet with a starry-eyed emoji.
That should be bold enough, and it led another poster to react with a statement that suggests that Richarlison was inviting a move from PSG.
The poster claimed the 24-year-old Brazilian was eager to join PSG. He finished the tweet with tears.
Another begged Richarlison not to leave, while a third person suggested he stopped flirting with PSG.
Mbappe is still to sign a renewal at PSG. With less than a year left on his current contract, he can sign a pre-contract in January. Real Madrid is believed to be his preferred destination.
His departure next season could open the door for Richarlison, who still has three years left on his contract to join PSG.
