Marcus Rashford has accused the media of making things up as they go along.
Hardly a week goes by without Manchester United not making it to the news for one negative report or the other. Several United players have been the top topic every week. They have come up for discussions for their performances or off the field stuff.
The season has been filled with several reports, as the Red Devils struggle to get into the top four of the Premier league. The club captain Harry Maguire has been vilified for his performances, with many asking that the captain’s band be taken off him. Ralf Rangnick has come to the defence of his captain several times on the issue.
Mason Greenwood has been another topic, with his teammates offering him no support during his debacle with the law. The legendary Cristiano Ronaldo has not been exempted from criticism.
Amid all the noise, there is a mole in the squad. The mole has been the source of leaks to the press. The latest suggestion is a division in the dressing room. Just days ago, there were reports of Ronaldo not trusting Ralf Rangnick as capable of being United manager. Despite the denials, the rumours have refused to go away. Marcus Rashford is the latest to come to United's defence.
No dressing room rancour
Amid the poor performances churned out by the Red Devils weekly, a new report has surfaced suggesting a division in the Manchester United dressing room.
Rashford is having none of that and has accused the media of inventing stories of problems within the ranks at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old, who has not been exempt from personal attacks for his poor displays on the pitch and his active PR shenanigans, has denied the news reports.
The reports of unrest in the dressing room have refused to go away, as interim manager Ralf Rangnick struggles to find consistency for his side. The poor results seem to be fueling the constant reports of division in the dressing room. In Germany, reports surfaced of a division based on nationality. Senior English players are up in arms against Cristiano Ronaldo and his allies.
Denials, denials, and more denials
Several players have consistently rubbished the reports of rancour in the squad. Rashford was furious at the news and blasted the news source.
According to The Sun, players like Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford are irritated that Ronaldo wants to lead the dressing room with his clique. The Sun claims there is a risk of a split in the dressing room.
Rashford responded to the tweet with one of his own. “Are we just making it up as we go along now then, he asked? Please stop looking for divides”, he concluded.
Cristiano Ronaldo also responded with a message after scoring against Brighton. “Back on track!” Ronaldo tweeted on Tuesday. He also said - “Nobody gives up, and there’s only one way to get back on track: hard work, teamwork, serious work. Everything else is just noise. Let’s go, Devils!”
