PSG are well-known for their heavy spending and desire to always attract the best superstars in their ranks. The perfect summary to that is the addition of a player like Lionel Messi to their squad, despite already boasting stars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Such is the state of the PSG squad that every single player in their squad has a ‘superstar’ status, and even a player like Gianluigi Donnarumma has to battle it out for gametime with another world-class goalkeeper like Keylor Navas.
If that isn’t enough, imagine such a team boasting another world-class player like Mohamed Salah. That reality might not be so strange to think of.
If reports are to go by, PSG registered interest in the Liverpool star and are among the clubs keeping an eye out for the player.
Salah has continued his consistency for well over four seasons and continues to show his worth to Liverpool. It has been recently suggested that the Egyptian might be seeking a new challenge, and that has led to rumours of the forward leaving the club.
It is now being said that PSG are one of the sides linked to Salah, but there is nothing ‘concrete’ or official so far.
PSG monitor Salah’s situation
Salah has a Liverpool contract running until 2023, and it remains to be seen what decision he will make concerning his future.
It has been reported that Liverpool have opened talks with the 29-year-old over a new contract. However, Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on the player’s future.
While speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents Five Youtube channel, Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG still hold an interest in Salah and would be willing to test the waters if a chance emerges. This interest is indeed valid in the sense that Salah could come as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, whose future at the club remains uncertain.
However, all of these could depend on their progress or lack of it with Kylian Mbappe. Should the Frenchman sign a new contract, for instance, there would be no need to move for Salah.
What next for Salah?
It is more than evident that Salah will be a wanted man if he does choose to leave Liverpool. If he decides to continue as a Liverpool player, he will also get an extension almost immediately as well.
Salah is enjoying a brilliant season so far, where he has scored nine goals and registered three assists in nine games. Based on his current form, some might even say he is the best player in world football at the moment.
At the moment, Salah remains a Liverpool player, but PSG are ready to swoop in with an offer if the chance arrives.
