The merry-go-round involving PSG and Kylian Mbappe continues to spin, but an end to the whole saga is within sight. Mbappe has repeatedly rebuffed the offers made to him by PSG and is seemingly intent on leaving the French giants.
Mbappe is in a position of strength as the club tries to convince him that PSG is the best place for him.
He has less than 12 months left on his contract, and the club are desperate to tie him to a new deal.
The player is unconvinced about the whole offer and has refrained from putting pen to paper amid speculations of a move this summer.
The arrival of Lionel Messi at the club has done little to assuage the player.
Liverpool linked to Mbappe
Liverpool have been candidates to sign Kylian Mbappe in the last few years. With the player constantly linked with a move away from Paris, several clubs have been touted as his landing point, with Liverpool named among them.
However, the future of the PSG star could be resolved by next week.
An unnamed English club has made an official bid for Mbappe, with PSG resigned to losing the player. Liverpool may be the unnamed club.
Liverpool have not been active in the transfer window, and it is believed that the Anfield giants have stashed up enough cash to try and tempt Mbappe to Liverpool.
Real Madrid remains a possible destination
The 22-year-old is a renowned admirer of Real Madrid, and the club, in turn, has held a long-standing interest in Mbappe. With his contract ending next summer, Real Madrid have been biding their time, waiting for the opportune moment to make a move.
According to RMC, Real Madrid are yet to make an offer for the player, but an English club has preempted them with a formal bid.
Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez is playing a game of patience, with the belief that the player’s interest in joining the Madrid based club puts them in pole position.
It will amount to a coup if Perez can pull off a complicated deal in this economic period.
Mbappe rejects another PSG offer
As desperation sets in, Mbappe is closer to the exit than ever before.
PSG want to keep hold of their talented youngster, and a report from France has detailed the contract offer made to Mbappe.
According to RMC Sport, an offer of five years with an option of an extra year has been put forward to Mbappe.
It would make Mbappe the third-highest paid player at PSG. Neymar and Messi would be the only players earning higher than he does.
Despite Liverpool’s interest, Real Madrid remains Mbappe’s most likely destination.
