Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn believes Chelsea is not a good destination for RIce.

How do you solve a problem like Declan Rice? There is hardly a week that goes by without a mention of Declan Rice. His value has skyrocketed, and he is a wanted man by almost all the top English clubs, yet he remains at West Ham.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been the two major clubs at the forefront of signing the player.

Chelsea have been looking for a midfielder that will bring some balance to their team. It is galling to Chelsea knowing that Rice was once under their tutelage, and now they need to shore up a hefty amount to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

At Old Trafford, the project there has seen several players walk through the door. Big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have shored up the team. With these additions, the team is still to produce the kind of results required of them. The latest excuse for the poor performances is the need for a midfielder in the mould of Declan Rice. For Ole, it is the final piece to the jigsaw puzzle.

Following the pursuit of the Englishman, Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn has weighed in the matter. The former player has chosen a destination he feels will suit Rice best.

Where should Rice go?

According to The Express, Winterburn believes that £90 million for Declan Rice is fair. The former Arsenal defender said it's a huge amount of money, but a player like Rice is worth every single penny of it.

On a destination for Rice, Winterburn said he is unsure if Manchester City will sign him, but he acknowledged the interest by Chelsea and Manchester United.

For Winterburn, Manchester United is the perfect destination for Rice. Speaking on a potential move, he said that the Red Devils have an abundance of attacking talent but are usually open defensively. He cited this as the reason Rice should be thinking of Manchester United rather than Chelsea.

The £90m-rated midfielder

Rice made his debut for West Ham in the 2016/17 season. The debut came on the final day, while his national team debut came in 2019. The midfielder has since established himself as one of the most important players for West Ham and England.

The 22-year-old has made over 150 appearances for West Ham while turning out 26 times for the English national team. Rice was pivotal for England in their run to the final of EURO 2020.

With the speculation surrounding his future, Rice remains unaffected and continues to deliver for his club. As the heat gets turned up, it's only a matter of time before he decides to leave the Hammers or stay. Winterburn has turned him in thection of Manchester United, but coughing out £90 million is a different ball game.

For now, Rice says he's happy at West Ham.
