Keylor Navas has played almost 100 games since signing for PSG and continues to enjoy regular game time despite Gianluigi Donnarumma's arrival.

Newcastle are in a relegation dogfight, and the odds of surviving the drop continues to slip daily. The club hired Eddie Howe to steady the ship after firing Steve Bruce, yet performances and results have not changed. Newcastle are now getting desperate.

The wealth behind Newcastle makes them the wealthiest club in the world. For all the money they have, Newcastle finds it an arduous task to attract the best players in the game. It will take more than money to convince the top players to come to Newcastle as the best in the game want to play in the biggest competitions. With no assurances that they would survive relegation and the absence of a big-name coach, Newcastle is struggling to attract players.

In pursuit of the kind of players that can help them retain their status as a Premier League club, Newcastle hascted their gaze on Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Making a move for Keylor Navas

Newcastle are deep in relegation struggles, and the results have been far from a deal. For Newcastle to maintain Premier League status, their results have to improve. The club hopes to sign players this January to help them survive the drop. Like the club found out in the summer, it is easier said than done.

In a desperate bid to improve their fortunes, Newcastle want to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas. Navas has enjoyed a successful time at the Parc des Princes, and with the Costa Rican advancing in age, Newcastle believes PSG might be keen to do business.

The plan to snare the former Real Madrid goalkeeper is in the works, but will the goalkeeper want to join a club to engage in a relegation battle? It almost looks unlikely.

A successful tenure at PSG amid Donnarumma challenge

Keylor Navas has won it all in club football. The former Real Madrid goalkeeper has three Champions League and a La Liga title to his name. He joined PSG in 2019 and has gone on to win several league and cup titles.

At 35 years, the veteran goalkeeper has made almost a century of appearances for the French club and continues to challenge the younger and dependable Gianluigi Donnarumma for the number one shirt.

Donnarumma joined PSG in the summer on a free transfer from AC Milan following the Azzurri victory at Euro 2020. Surprisingly, the young Italian has seen fewer games than the veteran goalkeeper this season. According to RMC Sport, Newcastle has reached out to PSG to make their intentions known, but the French giants seem interested in keeping Navas till the end of the season.

Another snag is if Navas would be up for a relegation scrap.
