Manchester United urged to sell Van de Beek

If horses were wishes, beggars would ride. That is the situation that Manchester United's midfielder Donny van de Beek finds himself in.

In 2017, Ajax made it to the Europa League final, where they lost to Manchester United, then led by Jose Mourinho. They lost that game 2-0, but his qualities were all there for the world to see. It was pretty much a matter of time before the world came calling. A couple more brilliant seasons saw the crème-de-la-crème of football royalty come calling.

He chose Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which has turned out to be perhaps the biggest mistake of his career. Donny hardly gets games, and Ole wouldn't let him leave, not even on loan.

Now, the Dutchman cuts a frustrated figure on the United bench. He can't buy a game at United, and he doesn't know what to do to force a move away. Reports have it that the Dutchman's agent is already in search of a new club for his client.

Gabby calls for Donny sale

Former English international Gabby Agbonlahor is bemused at the treatment handed to Donny van de Beek by Solskjaer. According to Agbonlahor, as per Football Insider, it is turning into a joke, and he has advised the Red Devils to sell him in January. The former Ajax player has been linked with some Premier League teams, with Everton included.

If Gabby thinks it's turned into a joke, then it isn't a funny one. The player has seen his career stalemated at United. Donny is a fine player who shone while at Ajax, even helping his team to the Champions League semi-final where they fell to Tottenham. It is hard to believe that he turned bad overnight. So bad he can't make it into the Manchester United team. The situation leads one to think that Ole is unaware of how to use the player's talents.

Donny has notd any league game this season, and he let his frustrations loose after warming up to come on as a sub in their last Champions League game, but Ole changed his mind.

Everton show interest in Donny

Van de Beek joined the Red Devils in 2020 after five successful years at Ajax for £40 million. Since his arrival, he has endured tough times with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reposing no confidence in him. The Dutchman's lack of playing borders almost on a vendetta. Donny cannot believe what he's going through and wanted a summer transfer, which Ole didn't sanction.

Evertonctor of football Marcel Brands confessed that they attempted to bring Donny to Goodison Park in the summer but failed. Brands hopes they could make a successful January bid.

Agbonlahor also said that Van de Beek is trapped at Manchester United and that it makes no sense and has asked the United to let the player join Everton in January.
