Gabriel Jesus responds to Arsenal transfer links

While reports continue to link Erling Haaland with a move to Manchester City, another forward, Gabriel Jesus, could be on his way out of the club.

It would make sense that the Citizens would want to free up space for a marquee signing like Haaland. However, such a deal will require much financially that even a club like Manchester City might be forced to sell a couple of players to make that happen.

Over the past few days, reports have strongly linked Gabriel Jesus with a move to Arsenal, given that the Gunners are in search of a forward and the Brazilian is also in search of regular game-time.

With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah possibly leaving the club, Arsenal are strongly expected to sign a forward this summer.

In line with the above, recent reports suggest that Jesus has refused to commit his immediate future to Manchester City. Odds are well in place by bookmakers to suggest that he will leave the club this summer.

Manchester City may sell Jesus in the summer

Gabriel Jesus is among several Manchester City players who are likely to be moved on this summer. The Brazilian, who scored four goals in the 5-1 demolition of Watford, has refused to commit his immediate future to Manchester City. The decision puts the Sky Blues in a spot. Manchester City may have to sell the player in the summer.

Reports suggest that the Sky Blues have decided on the sale of Jesus in the summer. 90min confirms that with the Brazilian approaching the final 12 months of his contract, City would sell unless he decides to renew with the club.

Negotiations are currently ongoing over an extension, but Jesus has proved stubborn as the Brazilian is unhappy with his role in the team. Manchester City is in the pursuit of a high profile striker, and it means Jesus would have an even limited role in the squad. It is a situation he finds bothersome. Pep Guardiola is interested in keeping Jesus around but is also in the market for another striker.

Manchester City in the hunt for a new striker

One of the most sought players in Europe is Erling Haaland. The Norwegian is wanted at the Etihad, with City ahead of the queue for the striker. It is a bothersome situation for Gabriel Jesus, who has had to play on the flanks for the Sky Blues.

Jesus was evasive about his contract situation and claimed it was not the time to talk about it. The Brazilian said he wants to enjoy the moment and focus on winning the Premier League with his club.

Jesus admitted to wanting to play more but stopped short of saying his limited game time was a problem. According to Jesus, his limited game time shows that he is at a big club. The 25-year-old claims every player wants to play, and his position is no different.

Arsenal are keen on Jesus, but the Brazilian will not turn down an offer from outside England. Several reports suggest interest from several clubs outside England, including Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
