The Toffees want to sell one of their assets with Arsenal and Manchester United lurking.

Things are not going well for Everton. The Merseyside club find themselves in circumstances both on and off the pitch. They are poles apart from local rivals Liverpool. While Liverpool are challenging for trophies on all fronts, Everton are struggling to stay afloat.

Since Everton fired Rafa Benitez in January, their form has gone from bad to worse. Benitez had a 31.8% win rate during his short spell with the Merseyside club. He won seven, drew five and lost ten of the 22 matches he managed at the club.

Frank Lampard has a better win record, with the former Chelsea midfielder leading the club to four wins and six losses. However, Everton continue to nosedive and are three points off relegation. With the club in financial circumstances, Everton plan to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison to balance their books.

Poor season for Everton as player sales imminent

It might not necessarily be a clearout, but Everton needs to balance their books, and some of its assets are up for sale. Everton are keen to sell either Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison in the summer as efforts are in top gear to rein in the downward financial turn the club has taken.

With the results and the finances looking gloomy, Everton is desperate to remedy the situation and avoid relegation. They currently sit 17th in the Premier League, three points above Watford. The Toffees are in a crisis under Frank Lampard, with morale low at the club.

Everton are also in a financial mess, as they posted losses of over £121m for last season. The club also registered losses of similar sizes in their financial reports for the two previous seasons.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison up for sale

According to The Sun, changes will come at Goodison Park, with the club bosses deciding they need to recoup some of the lost revenue. They have decided it is best to sell one of their assets in the summer, with Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison on the market.

In recent months, there have been links between Calvert-Lewin and Arsenal. Mikel Arteta is keen to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who switched sides in January. The Gabonese striker joined Barcelona in the winter transfer window. Manchester United is also interested in signing Richarlison.

Reports claim that Calvert-Lewin’s agent denied reports of a deal in the pipeline for a move to the Emirates. The agent claims Calvert-Lewin has not agreed to any contract with any club and is working hard in training. He concludes that Calvert-Lewin is determined to finish the season strong with Everton.

Injuries have been the bane for the Englishman as he has spent most of the season on the sidelines. He has scored only three goals from 11 appearances.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has advised his former club to bury thea of signing Calvert-Lewin as he believes the Englishman does not fit into Mikel Arteta’s ethos.
