Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard is now set to complete a move to Crystal Palace after swift talks took place.
The Eagles have only scored two goals in three Premier League matches and are keen to bolster their attack to remedy the situation.
Crystal Palace have not had the brightest start to the season, with goals hard to come by. Of the three league games played this season, they have drawn two matches, in a 0-0 draw with Brentford and a 2-2 draw with West Ham.
The Palace manager Patrick Vieira finds himself on the hot seat early into his Palace career and scratching his head as he seeks where the goals will come from. Vieira has forayed into the market for a new striker with goals at a premium for his side.
Between Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke, the goals have been hard to come by. The lack of goals has necessitated a move into the market for another striker.
The quest for a striker has seen him target Celtic's Odsonne Edouard in what will likely be a busy transfer deadline day.
Deadline day moves
The transfer market shuts at Midnight on Tuesday, and Crystal Palace are trying to make the best out of it. We are likely to see a number of deals go over the line today and all of the latest transfer news will be covered here on Betpack.
Their first three league games of the season have made it abundantly clear that the strike force they currently possess would not take them to the promised land. With the team currently in 14th place on the log, they would need to up their game after the international break. That is why Odsonne Edouard is a person of interest for the club.
Throughout last year, Edouard was linked with a move out of Celtic Park. It never materialized, but now it is more likely that he would be plying his trade at Selhurst Park.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer fee was agreed on Monday after both sides shook hands on a deal that is said to be between £15 million and £20 million.
Other Palace targets
Edouard is not the only player that interested Palace. Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah was also pursued by the Eagles, but their interest may have waned. The two London clubs could not agree on a valuation for the 22-year-old. With the window about to close, Palace may have opted out of the deal.
Palace have also been in contact with Sassuolo over the signing of former Chelsea winger Jeremie Boga. If they proceed with their interest in the player, they may find competition as two other Premier League clubs have also indicated interest.
