Timo Werner is open to a deal that would take him back to Germany.

Many players have spoken out against the outcome of the Ballon d’Or, rubbishing the credibility of the award. They have questioned the modus operandi of the awards and criticized it.

The Polish star finished second behind Lionel Messi, who many believe should not have been the winner. Despite Lionel Messi winning the award for the seventh time, Robert Lewandowski has been receiving accolades for his performance over the past two seasons. He has won a place in the people’s hearts and can be said to have won the people’s Ballon d’Or.

Despite advancing in age, Lewandowski is perhaps the most sought after forward in the world. The Bayern Munich striker has been consistent over the years. He has scored goals with reckless abandon.

Chelsea in Lewandowski swap deal

Chelsea has a chance to land one of football’s most prized assets. Robert Lewandowski would walk into any team in the world. He is arguably the best striker on the planet at the moment, and hardly any club would not jump at the chance to get him.

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea have the opportunity to land the Polish striker. Lewandowski received the inaugural Striker of the Year award and has been offered to Chelsea in a possible swap deal. According to reports, Chelseactor Marina Granovskaia has the offer of swapping Timo Werner for Robert Lewandowski.

The past two years have been a fantastic one for Lewandowski. He posted incredible numbers over the trophy-laden period. He helped Bayern Munich win a treble in 2020, with the 8-2 Champions League disgrace of Lionel Messi’s Barcelona. The striker has also scored 64 goals in 54 matches in 2021. It will be hard for Chelsea to resist the offer on the ground.

Bayern Munich not panicking yet

Robert Lewandowski has 18 months left to run on his contract. Despite his incredible performances, the Polish striker is no spring chicken. The 33-year-old is well into the twilight of his career and might be open to trying something different. The current situation has not set the alarms off at Bayern as the German club is not hitting the panic button yet.

According to football consultant Ian McGarry, Pini Zahavi has close contacts at Chelsea and is pulling the strings to see if a deal exists. Zahavi is Lewandowski’s agent and is described as the super-agent. He has been managing the striker’s football affairs for over two years.

McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast that Zahavi is a close confidant of Marina Granovskaia. McGarry is positive that Lewandowski has been offered to Chelsea in a move that could see Werner moving in the oppositection.

Bayern Munich had held an initial interest in Werner before Chelsea beat them to the punch in a £47.5million deal in 2020. It is understood that after one-and-a-half seasons at Chelsea, Werner is open to a Bayern move.

With all the news revolving around Lewandowski, the Bayern hierarchy remains calm.
