Chelsea eyeing Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi after Juventus turn down Federico Chiesa approach

The Blues were the talk of the transfer world last week, with claims that their £85m bid for another Italian forward Federico Chiesa got denied by his current club Juventus. The club has decided to keep him, as they only signed him last year. After seeing their bid rejected, recent reports from Italy suggest Chelsea are making inquiries about Berardi, alongside Lewandowski.

The 26-year-old Italian had a remarkable campaign for the Azzurri in their incredible Euro 2020 triumph. He made his mark in the opening game of the EURO 2020, having a goal contribution in the tournament’s first game. He also registered two assists and slotted his penalties calmly in two significant shootouts. 

Despite having offers from regular Serie A champions, Juventus, Berardi has been a one-club man since his debut for Sassuolo nine years ago. 

However, reports from Sportitalia suggest that Chelsea are eyeing the 26-year-old, as their offers have been declined by Borussia Dortmund.
